I believe that technology is very important to integrate in the classroom and a way to provide students a great tool that can assist in their learning an effective classroom environment. I’m hoping with this class I learn something that I don’t have knowledge of. So far its working, I have never created a blog before. This is a very interesting way to interact and communicate and I’m learning quickly how to use a Blog.

ADDIE Model

This model assist an instructor in taking a approach to identifying learning objectives, available resources, lessons, and creating assessment strategies to help teachers with their outcomes.

CHAPTER 3

After reading Chapter 3, I noticed it mentions history of instructional design and technology growth. In the 80’s and 90’s when I was growing up I was introduced to a variety of technology such as overheads, computers, emails, internet, videos and slideshows. Now that I am a teacher I have noticed a dramatic change with the use of tools. It amazes me how fast technology grows so rapidly. Today there are so many resources available for teachers and students to use.  A few gadgets that are available today in classrooms are whiteboards , Promethean boards, projectors, Blogs, Wikis and IPod’s. The technology I grew up with now is nothing like a chalkboard in the 80’s. Today the so called “chalkboard” teachers would call the Promethean board. The design has changed through the years from the 20th century till now 21st century. The development of the technology seems to spread like a virus and the tools today are engaging, motivating and inspiring for students to learn . These tools are a great way to use to interact and capture higher learning skills with our students. 

DEFINING THE FIELD

Technology is intensely changed over the years. In my opinion I believe that today technology has advanced our students in so many ways. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to get the chance to work with"new" gadgets in our classrooms.  In my school the media that is used has great resources for teachers and students to access.  My idea of instructional technology is being able to use all great resource that are available. To me technology is the future and by using the resources that are available can help our students learning expand. In schools, we use all kinds of resources to facilitate our needs such as student data, attendance, grades, communicating and researching. Since technology grows so rapidly I have noticed that every day there may be something new and innovating I may need to learn. That’s why I love my job!! It’s great to know I’m in a field where I have the tools to become more computer savvy and be up to date on technology everyday. With technology in my field I like to provide my students with a positive environment that supports creativity, risk-taking, and individuality.
